Ensuring operational efficiency and adherence to protocols:

Doors:

To unlock doors in Valentine, St. Denis, and Blackwater, hold down left shift and alt for an extended duration. It's imperative to keep all doors locked for security purposes.

On Duty:

While on duty, utilize #in-county-currently to update your station location. Edit your post if your assignment changes or when going off duty.

Doctor Ratios:

Maintain a doctor-to-population ratio of 1:20 county residents. Valentine must always have at least one doctor on duty due to its high traffic.

Uniform & Ranks:

Doctors must wear white attire during duty hours. Each rank is associated with a specific color. White attire, excluding corset/vest and hair accessories, is mandatory on duty.

Syringe Use:

Syringes are for reviving unconscious individuals and have a range. They're particularly useful for treating patients in cells.

Water Rescues:

Water rescues are prohibited and should only be undertaken by command. Alert individuals of rescue impossibility through the "Med Alert at (LOCATION)" message.

Broken Bones & Gunshot Wounds:

Physicians can treat broken bones and stop bleeding after patient examination. NPC doctors are available for bone treatment.

Second Chance & Surgery:

One surgeon handles "second chance" procedures, usually located in the back of the Valentine's office. Charges may apply for this service.

On/Off Duty Procedures:

To go on duty, press T key, then enter /onduty to register within the county and medical department. To go off duty, repeat the process and consider heading out of the county to ensure NPC doctor functionality.

Skybox Communication:

All medical communication must be professional.

Approved Examples:

  • "Doc on Duty > Rhodes."
  • "Rhodes > Valentine"
  • "Doc off duty > Rhodes."

    Unapproved:

  • None

Doctor Downs:

In case of a doctor's incapacitation, initiate the "Code Red - Doctor down (AREA)" alert in the skybox. Then, use /alertdoctor to request assistance. If you're the sole doctor on duty, you may respawn or send a prayer.

Skybox Alerts & Clears:

Use "Doc", "Med", or > before the location in your skybox alerts. After responding to an alert, use /resp or /gotalert. Clear alerts for yourself with /calerts.

Billing:

Remain vigilant to prevent double charges and remind patients that continued horseplay will increase the bill.

Billing System:

  • Billing occurs when in close proximity to the patient.
  • It's advisable to bill before or during medical treatment to avoid patients fleeing.
  • In group settings, obtain the patient's ID or name for billing (e.g., /bill 100 123).
  • For individual cases, charge using /bill 123 (no ID required).

Minimum Headcount & Territory:

Doctors should remain within their assigned location unless they are the sole doctor in the county. Stations serve as primary communication hubs and fallback points.

Waiting Time to Respond:

A minimal wait time of 15-20 seconds is observed before responding to alerts to avoid overlap and allow equitable distribution of calls among doctors.

AFK Timeouts:

Doctors should go off duty and leave the area if they anticipate being AFK for more than 10 minutes. Exiting the county for extended AFK periods is preferred.

Bank Robberies, Forts, & Siska:

Exercise caution during bank robberies and fort alerts. Avoid active scenes until they are secure. Seek police escort when entering dangerous areas like Siska, Guarma, Van Horn, or Thieves Landing.

Personal Horses:

Doctors may use their own fully trained and shoed horses for transportation.

Gun Ownership:

Doctors may carry two handguns and one long arm for self-defense against animals or emergencies. Weapons should not be aimed at anyone unless in self-defense.

Bandage Usage:

Stopping bleeding may require up to three bandages. Apply one bandage for each third of the health lost. Avoid strenuous activities to prevent bandage displacement.

Prayers:

For inaccessible patients, request prayers through communication channels to facilitate rescue.

Downed within a Law Building:

Exercise caution when reviving patients within law buildings. Follow law enforcement instructions and leave the premises promptly after treatment.

Exhaustion:

Suggest consumption of energy-boosting items like coffee for exhaustion. If symptoms persist, recommend head popping or prayer submission for assistance.
